Viaticum
Viaticum is a research journal published annually by Asbury University. Each feature is one spread, focused on a faculty member's area of scholarship. I was one of two designer responsible for the production of two issues of this journal.
This professor conducts research into the genetic origins of syndromes that induce heart arrhythmias. The graphic visually tells the story before you even read the article.

This spread about math education uses a primary color palette found within the main photo. The tight tracking in the heading creates contact between the letterforms, echoing the title.

When dealing with trips abroad, and other Professor and student activities away from campus, I often have to rely on photography they have taken. Here, an interesting crop leads the eye and provides the menace needed to set the tone for this article about a trip to visit Holocaust sites and study the ideas about humanity that lead us there.
